Established in 2009, Fainting Goat Gelato is a small family business in the unique Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. All of our gelato is handcrafted daily in our shop to ensure maximum freshness and quality. Our heart and soul goes into every batch, and we are proud to serve our delicious creations to our customers.
It has been our dream to own a small shop ever since we moved to Seattle from our hometown of Izmir, Turkey in ’97. With the help and support of our three daughters, we opened up shop in this wonderful neighborhood, where we have been welcomed by our community with open arms.
What is Gelato?
Gelato is an Italian form of ice cream. In the making, gelato has a lower fat content when compared to traditional American ice cream. In addition to being healthier, less fat also allows for less ice crystals in the gelato. During the freezing process, gelato is slow-churned, resulting in intense flavors and a dense, velvety texture.
What makes our gelato different?
Having the right base is crucial when it comes to making gelato, which is why we use organic milk from Fresh Breeze Farms in Lynden, WA. We use locally sourced, seasonal fruits, and only the highest quality nuts. We are proud to be the first gelato shop in Seattle to use organic milk and sugar.
